It is a matter of debate whether raising alpacas is a science or an art given the fact we are still have much to learn about breeding these wonderful animals. What is undisputed is the grace and beauty of the noble alpaca and the marvelous fiber they produce. This section will deal with fiber. For now, while we are under construction, we invite you to enjoy some marvelous examples of alpaca textiles from the Paracas culture of Peru. Please note that the earliest examples of alpaca textiles date back more than 2,000 years and are incredibly well preserved, truly a testament to the uniqueness and value of what alpacas produce. The border we have used for our website is from ceremonial garments used during the Inca Empire.
